Gift Card Churning – Rejection – Part 2

I wrote about Cardpool not accepting a certain gift card and how reluctant they were to release more information on why they would not accept my card. I tried my luck with ABC Gift Cards.

They are the same thing. They rejected the cards, but their responses were more helpful and open.

After asking them what is “high risk”:

Hi [Name Withheld],

It seems that recently [gift card type withheld until sold] have been flagged as high risk as they go bad very easily.
Once our system flags a card we are reluctant to take it because we do not want customers to be buying faulty cards.

If there is anything else we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email.

So there you have it! I have a few ideas that I will share with you on what makes a card go bad.
