Gift Card Churning – Rejected!? Again!?

A couple of weeks ago, I attempted to sell $600 worth of Home Depot gift cards on Plastic Jungle, the site cancelled the transcation. I tried entering the gift cards again to sell the gift cards and the website said that I had already tried to sell and would not go through.

I emailed Plastic Jungle’s support and this is what they said:

Hello,

There are a limit to the number of cards you can transact in a given time period by brand/dollar.

I’m sorry to hear that your transaction was not approved. Based on either the account activity or the information you provided to Plastic Jungle, Plastic Jungle was not able to approve your transaction at this time. Each transaction is reviewed by the Plastic Jungle Trust and Safety Team, and if we are able to approve your transaction, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Please don’t hesitate to get back in touch if you have any other questions.

Thank You,

Given that, I sold $50 worth of Home Depot cards. When the error message came up, I sold in total about $4000 worth of various gift cards.

I asked if there was any way of re-entering the cards:

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Plastic Jungle!

Because of the large amount of gift cards being sold, our Trust and Safety team is requesting more information with regards to the source of your gift cards.

Please fill out the attached Volume Seller agreement and fax it over to 408-608-2009 or attach it to this email.

Regards,

Plastic Jungle Customer Support

I asked them if they wanted me to fill out the form or provide proof of purchase of the gift cards. They wanted both, but I have only sent in the proof of purchase of gift cards.

Thank you for contacting Plastic Jungle!

Thanks for providing the source of cards. We would like to inform you that we have released the card information from our system.

We request you to re-do the transaction with all the gift cards.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused to you.

Regards,

Plastic Jungle Customer Support

My suspicion from that error message was the Office Max gift card mistake. I believe it was the large volume of Home Depot cards that were coming in and caused a fraud alert from points fans reselling Home Depot gift cards.

I actually emailed Plastic Jungle a long time ago if there was a bulk seller program and they told me no.
