I know your time is limited at Walt Disney World and you may be tempted to skip the live shows in favor of rides. Don’t. With familiar characters and music the shows are the perfect introduction to live theater for your kids; and at 15-30 minutes they’re short enough to hold even a toddler’s attention.
One show rises above the rest in terms of production, talent, and just plain fun: The Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom. In fact, Lion King is my #1 attraction at Animal Kingdom, period. I’d even use a Fast Pass for the show if need be.
Why is The Festival of The Lion King so special? Because it’s not just theater. The show is 360 degrees and interactive with lots of opportunities to sing along. Added to the mix are lively Cirque type elements including stilt walkers, trapeze, and juggling with fire. There are simply no chances for a kid to get bored!
I have to give a shout out here to the Panasonic HX-A500 4K Point-of-View Wearable Action Camera Camcorder with 3-Inch LCD (Gray). I was given one by Panasonic to review as they want non-techies out in the world with the A500 to get their feedback. This video is my very first so I’m barely scratching the surface of what this puppy can do, but shooting video just by looking at it is cooler than you can imagine!
