Review of Park Hyatt Dubai

Reason for choosing:

The Park Hyatt Dubai is close to the airport and we thought it might be nice to try someplace new, as we had a few days in Dubai.  We also needed the stay credits to help with maintaining our Hyatt diamond status for next year.  Though the reviews were mixed we ended up having a great night there.

Lobby and Check in/Check Out Experience:

Check in and check out were easy.  While the hotel was large they did escort us to the room after we were checked in.  This was helpful since we might have gotten lost otherwise.

Where the hotel stood out:

The suite was fantastic. One of the perks of having diamond status at Hyatt was the free use of the mini bar and snacks in the room. The Park Hyatt kept the waters full throughout the day too. Take a look for yourself.

Breakfast was a nicely laid out buffet. Given the moderate weather we ended up eating outside but the downside was that it was the smoking section too.  There was definitely enough food to cover lunch as well.

Where the hotel fell a little short:

The staff could have been a bit more prompt with getting an additional pot of tea during breakfast but otherwise the Park Hyatt ended up being a very nice retreat. Overall there was very little to complain about other then the cost of the restaurants. To that point. for dinner, the night we were there, we ended up ordering room service; just a simple pizza and sandwich, complimented by a couple of beers from the complimentary mini bar.

Wrapping Up:

The Park Hyatt was like a little Oasis in a very busy city.  We would return again if we had a few days in Dubai. While we didn’t get out on the links, the Park Hyatt was close to what seemed like a pretty nice place to play a round or two of golf. Overall, we’d recommend the hotel to folks visiting Dubai for a short time, although it becomes pricey for an extended stay.
