Collection Of A Few Noteworthy Items

  1. Saw this on PF Digest – The Deal Mommy on First2Board has posted the schedule for Family Travel For Real Life #FT4RL
  2. The schedule:

    • 1:00-1:55: Jason Steele, Dad of 2 and well-known points expert, on using those points on family travel (Have you ever tried to book 4 award tickets?)
    • 2:00-2:55: Susan DeBruhl, Mom and Grandma, from Carolina Travel Girl on lodging options when a regular hotel room just isn’t gonna cut it. I’ll have lots to share on this topic as well, including how I rent condos worldwide for $35/night!

    • 3:10-4:05:  Debra Schroeder, Mom of 2, from Traveling Well for Less on how to keep saving once you get to your destination.

  3. I should probably write a more complete post with all of the updates as I have been piece mealing them all. Bill paying at the certain check cashing location updated their systems. First, they are more strict. They check ID’s at all locations, except the location that I’ve built my rapport. The other day, I bill paid under $450 and traditionally that meant no picture was to be taken. However, when I paid that amount, I had my picture taken. Your certain prepaid card that doesn’t work at Walmart works fine here.
  4. Matt is having an identity crisis – which I feel the same way, not sure if I should expand further from Manufactured Spending
  5. Big Habitat is chasing the Southwest Companion Pass without signing up for a credit card! This is a story I am on the edge of my seat waiting to read. Here’s the beginning of the story

  • Just curious if the billpay/check cashing location takes multiple GCs for one bill pay fee, and if so, whether they charge one debit card fee or multiples?

    • Sadly, they charge per card used

      • Ugh, too bad, but still… do they at least take multiple GCs for one bill pay fee with multiple debit card fees? Or is it one bill pay fee per GC also?

        • It is $2.95 for the bill pay + (however many cards used)*$1. Personally, I’ve never tried it, but a few people that I’ve spoken to have verified it
